British indie-rock songstress Jade Bird makes her return with her new track, Head Start. The #1 Billboard-charting singer took a shirt hiatus following the cancellation of her tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At only 22 years old, the musicians evocative lyricism shine on the release, floating above a bold, pop-influenced soundscape. The inviting track builds to a shimmering, uplifting chorus that resonates with the listener. With a raw quality to everything she touches, Head Start is a true testament to Bird's musicianship.

“Headstart came out of a trip I made to upstate New York at the beginning of the year.” Bird shares of the track. “Being there, I was immediately taken back to the magic and inspiration of creating the first album . It’s quite a light-hearted song, about liking someone who just can’t see the signs, but more than that releasing it feels like a way to give a bit of joy to the end of the year. It feels like community to me, and it makes me want to sing again.”

In 2019, Bird released her debut self-titled record, which was met with critical acclaim after it debuted in the Top 10 on the UK charts and surpassed 27 millions streams in the UK alone. The singer has taken to the stage at festivals including Newport Folk Festival, Shaky Knees, Lollapalooza ,Bonnaroo, Hangout Festival and SXSW, also touring with the likes of Hozier,Brandi Carlile,The Lumineers, Father John Misty, Jason Isbell, Colter Wall, Anderson East and Lewis Capaldi.
