Brisbane singer Iyah May has unveiled her latest single, XO Girl, a collaboration with Gold Coast rapper Saint Lane. Described by the singer "an anthem for everyone who refuses to be a pleaser and appeaser", the song arrives with an official visual, directed by Kevin Bar.

Speaking of the visual, May shares: "There's a lot of self-conviction and empowerment in the lyrics of XO Girl, which is how I felt when I was writing it. At the time I was learning a lot about confidence, taking risks and trusting the process. I really wanted a video that captured some of those emotions and that energy but in a fun, kind of weird way.”

Whilst studying to become a doctor, May decided to take the chance on her music career, moving to New York City to pursue music. This was placed on hold last year when the singer returned to medicine, working in hospitals and virus clinics during the COVID-19 pandemic.

XO Girl is out now! Watch the visual below.
