INTRODUCING SUNROSE

Watch our interview with Sunrose below!

Nashville-via-Los Angeles based four-piece Sunrose have delivered their fiery sophomore album, Self-immolation. We caught up with the band to chat about the release, cultivating their artistry, hitting the road and so much more!

Inspired by Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhist monk Thích Quảng Đức's 1963 protest and fuelled by the worlds current socio-economic and political state, Self-immolation is a defiant body of work that pushes up against the bands established thematic and sonic boundaries. Cathartic lyricism captures elements of the bands unapologetic bravado, offering rumination on the human existence.

Existing within a grunge-based realm, the record finds the band experimenting with their sound, weaving in sonic threads of alt-rock, punk and psychedelia that captures the essence of their artistic union. Propulsive percussion blazes across the record, with blistering guitar work laced throughout. Self-immolation finds its more demure moments on Chambers, Homeward Bound and In The Sun, allowing for moments of breath and contemplation between the albums more electrifying tracks. The duality of sound exhibited across the record showcases their multi-faceted artistry, and heralds in a new era for the four-piece.

Having just wrapped up a run of tour dates across San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Austin, Sunrose are set to appear at Austin City Limits this October, joining Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, ODESZA, The Lumineers, Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette, The 1975, Hozier and more. The band are also set to take to the stage in Nashville on May 16. Tickets are on sale now!
