Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Monnie has unveiled her debut EP, Lately. We caught up with the singer to chat about the release, creating, reinventing herself as solo artist and so much more!
Across the release, Monnie sheds the alt-fuelled sound of her previous musical project, Sweater Curse, instead diving head first into crafting her own realm of hyperpop. Lush and propulsive soundscapes unfurl throughout, capturing the intensity and frenzied thematic exploration of Lately. The feel good sonics draw you in and create an inviting space to dance all your worries away, heralded by Monnie's conversational and relatable lyricism.
The collection of songs finds the singer presents a vulnerable side that tracks and navigates her own anxieties and finding a sense of belonging following her relocation to Naarm/Melbourne.
