Watch our interview with Meteor Infant!
Last week, Eora/Sydney-based singer-songwriter and Gomeroi man Meteor Infant unveiled his beautifully crafted EP, Ancient House. We caught up with Liam Keenan to unpack the EP, the influence of his ancestral heritage, his creative process and so much more.
Laced with moments of vulnerability that explore the past and its impact on the present, Keenan’s evocative and vivid lyricism conjures imagery of family, history and ancestry. Acknowledging and immersing himself within his family history, the musician makes an attempt to bring the past and present together as one. Layered instrumentation effortlessly shimmer beneath personal stories of the musicians own upbringing and life, offering listeners insight into his own personal journey as a Gomeroi man and artist
Existing within a nostalgia-fuelled indie-rock realm, the musicians dulcet vocals float above immersive guitar-led soundscapes, intricately composed to create a dream-like listening experience. Lush soundscapes provide the space to let Keenan’s vocals breathe, drawing you in with his gentle and mesmerising tones and soaking up all there is to offer on Ancient House.
