Hot off the release of their latest single, Pussycat, Big Twisty & The Funk Nasty launched the track with a performance at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory, and we were along for ride in Twisty’s pick up truck!
Dressed to the nines in their custom Bernie Thomas suits, the band were joined by local musicians Harry O'Brien (Pacific Avenue), Mirrah Reflects and Gabriel DeBurgh on backing vocals. With an opening set from Lazywax's Tim Ayre, the crowd were ready to boogie all night long.
Bringing their unique flare of his powerful, jaw dropping, funk infused hip-hop to the set, the MC and his band played through fan favourites including The King Is Back and Pick Up Truck, as well as a handful of covers, including an epic performance of the Black Eyed Peas’ Pump It, which had the rowdy crowd going bonkers.
Bursting onto the scene in 2019, Big Twisty is the musical project of local musician, Dom Littrich. The drummer of Pacific Avenue, Littrich teamed up with longtime friends and fellow musicians to form Big Twisty & The Funk Nasty. Having released a string of fire singles, the collective have gone on to sell-out venues across the east coast of Australia, bringing their signature funky stylings to audiences.
