Techno duo Hellcat Speedracer have treated us with the release of their brand new banger, Collide. The track arrives alongside the news of the duos signing to Island Records Australia.

Built atop an ear-worm synth melody and minimal production that crescendos in anticipation, Collide's booming beats and textural soundscape undercurrents vocalist Oliver Critchley's entrancing vocals. Their dynamic approach to creating dance music results in the perfect soundtrack for those late nights spent on the dance floor. The release is accompanied by an official visual, created by Tom Cotton.

“Dance music can be just as memorable as it is minimal. This is something that we found key when writing Collide. With the song's movement coming from the lyric’s melody. We felt the song needed to progress texturally underneath by getting busier section by section, allowing the finale of the song to leaving you wanting more. Evolving from indie rock to electronic music, this juncture in our journey as musician's and songwriter's is somewhat symbolic in the song's lyrics. We demonstrate how two worlds colliding can be a positive thing as it makes way for new creativity.”

Hellcat Speedracer is the musical project of Good Lekker bandmates, Critchley and Alex Gray. Bonding over the interest in rave culture and techno music, the duo began working on original material together, bringing their own distinct individual strengths to the project. Hellcat Speedracer are set to make their Splendour In The Grass debut later this month. Tickets are on sale now!
