GRAMMY Award®-winning global superstar Harry Styles has unveiled his new single, As It Was. The track serves as the first taste of the musicians hotly-anticipated third studio album, Harry's House, due out this May.
Moving towards a more retro-pop sonics, Style's mesmerising vocals float above dynamic guitar melodies that cut through a swirling soundscape. Conceptually, the track recalls on a relationship and the changing nature of the world around us, whilst also touching on his own mental health. Laced with vulnerable and introspective lyricism, the emotionally charged track is juxtaposed by bright and dance ready sonics, that when paired together show a whole new side to Styles.
Directed by GRAMMY Award®-nominated director Tanu Muino, the songs red-laced visual follows Styles through a number of scenes, feeling held back in the hustle and bustle of city life and retreating to vibrant creative spaces.
“Directing a Harry Styles video was a bucket list dream come true for me as he’s my favourite performer,” Muino shares. “Shooting him was bittersweet as it was one of the happiest days of my life, but on the second day of the shoot, my country Ukraine was invaded so you can imagine the insane emotions we had while shooting. Me and my team from Ukraine poured so much love into this video and you can see it on screen. It will be a music video I will never forget and now I can happily retire.”
Set to arrive this May, the announcement of the 13-track album was accompanied by an official album trailer. The visual stitches together clips from the musicians tour, his native homeland, and more before we meet the singer on stage in a theatre as a house is erected around him.
Fans are able to pre-order Harry's House in a variety of formats from the musicians webstore. The album will be made available on a limited edition sea glass green vinyl pressing, orange and yellow cassettes, a hardcover CD casebook and more.
