Multi-ARIA Award-winning Ghanaian-Australian artist, Genesis Owusu has delivered a new taste of his sophomore album with Tied Up!. Set to arrive this August, the musician announced the release of STRUGGLER with its lead single, Leaving The Light, earlier this year.

Produced by Sol Was (Beyoncé’s Renaissance) and Henry Was (Justin Jay, Thumpasaurus), Owusu has delivered another vigorous triumph with Tied Up!. Built upon warped guitar work and a funk beat, the track oozes with the musicians signature charismatic performance fuelled by entrancing vocal melodies and punctuated phrasing. Tied Up! explores navigating your own way in the world, whilst also retaining your core values. The release arrives alongside an official visual, directed by longtime collaborator and visual artist, Lisa Reihana. Owusu takes on the role of a boxer within a dystopian realm, challenged with fighting for his own sense of self whilst escaping the demons that follow him.

“The Roach continues to run through an absurd world, trivially trying to make sense of it. Maybe looking internally, focusing inward instead of outward, will provide some guidance? Who knows.” the musician shares.

To celebrate the release of STRUGGLER, Owusu will embark on a world tour kicking off in North America this October. The musician will then perform in the United Kingdom, France and Germany before returning home for the tours Australian run. Kicking off in Perth on December, the run of shows will continue on to Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Sydney, before wrapping up in Adelaide on December 16. Tickets are on sale now!

STRUGGLER is out August 19. Watch the visual for Tied Up! below.
