17-year old rising pop singer-songwriter GAYLE has shared a new version of her viral hit, abcdefu, enlisting American singer-songwriter Royal & the Serpent for a dynamic new verse. The release arrives alongside a new visual, featuring both artists.
“Any song with fuck you in the chorus is a big yes from me. Then throw in a cute up-and-coming star??? I’m sold. GAYLE is the sweetest and so damn talented. So excited to see what this next year has in store for her!!” Royal & the Serpent shares of the track.
GAYLE adds of the collaboration, “I'm so excited that Royal was able to jump on “abcdefu”. I think she’s such a badass and she totally matched the fuck you energy in the song.”
Produced by Pete Nappi (Kesha, Anne Marie, Madison Beer, Illenium), the track is an FU to that pesky ex, the one who did you nasty yet you still rise above show them kindness. Built upon minimalistic sonics and jagged guitar work, the song reaches its climax with a massive sing-a-long chorus.
