Gang Of Youths drummer Donnie Borzestowski has dropped his side project: Special Friends. The collective of lifelong friends - consisting of Donnie, Keith, Randal, David, Andy and Jerry - dropped their debut single Big Sur, produced and mixed by close friend Luke O’Dea.
Borzestowski said in a statement the band is comprised of “few mates who are dear to my heart. We all grew up in a small town together on the East Coast of Australia. We’ve also laughed together, cried together and gone on adventures together.”
About the song, Borzestowski continued saying the track “touches on the regret and mixed feelings that come after you complete a significant phase in your life, and the temptation to right the wrongs of the past”.
The track is just a teaser of what’s to come while the group plan to release their debut EP.
