GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, songwriter and producer FINNEAS has dropped his fiery new track, Can’t Wait To Be Dead. The track explores the singers relationship with the internet, and his encounters with what he finds. The bold track is a follow up to What They’ll Say About Us, written during lockdown as the musician observed the changing world.
Speaking about Can’t Wait To Be Dead, FINNEAS reveals: "I’m happy for this song to mean anything to anyone who listens to it but to me, it’s a song about my relationship with the Internet,” he explains. “Especially in an election year. Especially during a pandemic. Sometimes, the internet makes me laugh, sometimes it makes me cry, sometimes it makes me hopeful. But sometimes, it really makes me wanna be dead."
The release will be accompanied by an official music video, due out this Friday. The visual was directed by Constellation Jones, the alter ego of longtime music video producer and director Clark Jackson, whose past work includes Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, and Miguel.
Last year, the musician released his debut EP, Blood Harmony. The critically acclaimed EP was recently re-released, including a pre track and a re-working of fan favourite, Let’s Fall In Love For The Night. In January this year, FINNEAS took home 6 GRAMMY Awards® including the prestigious Producer of the Year, Non-Classical and Best Engineered Album, Non Classical as well as Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year for his work with with his sister Billie Eilish on her No. 1 debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and chart topping single bad guy.
