The first track from the upcoming Baz Luhrmann film ELVIS has just been released, and we couldn't be anymore excited! Doja Cat’s Vegas serves as the lead single from the ELVIS: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, leaving us wanting more.
Incorporating Elvis Presley’s classic Hound Dog, Doja Cat collaborated with acclaimed Gospel singer Shonka, who stars as Big Mama Thornton in the film. The duo took to the Coachella stage last month to perform the track, bringing all the glitz and glam to the live arena.
ELVIS soundtrack collaborators featured heavily at Coachella, including Nashville based country and soul artist Yola, who plays Sister Rosetta Thorpe in the film and Italian Eurovision supergroup Måneskin. Over the weekend, the rockers gave audiences a sneak peek at their collaboration with Luhrmann for the epic soundtrack, performing with their take on the classic If I Can Dream at the Eurovision Song Contest grand final.
The soundtrack features a collection of beloved Elvis tracks from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, all the while celebrating the many influences and impact the King of Rock has had on artists today.
ELVIS: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is due for release on the 24th of June, with the film released in cinemas on the 23rd of June.
