Aussie legends DMA’s have had quite the week! Over the weekend, the band took to the stage at the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final between Richmond and Geelong. Playing to a live audience of almost 30,000 at The Gabba in Brisbane, the televised performance reached national average TV audience of 3.812m. That is over three million television sets that were blessed with live music from the band.
Overnight, the band have premiered the music video for their track, Round & Around, an empty Goodison Park Stadium in Liverpool UK. Broadcast via livestreams on DMA’s and Everton FC’s Facebook pages, the video was played on the stadiums big screens. Directed by Steve Lattuca, the visual was filmed around the bands hometown of Newtown in Sydney, utilising a mixture of new and archival footage of the band. A standout track on the record, Round & Around is a hypnotic rock n roll tune with hypnotic dance undertones that serves as penultimate track on their hit record, THE GLOW.
Recently, the band received five ARIA Awards nominations for the record, scoring nods for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, Best Independent Release, Best Group and Best Live Act. The album encapsulates their manic live shows and is a further exploration of the bands signature style, without feeling over done.
THE GLOW is out now! Watch the music video for Round & Around below.
