DANIEL JOHNS ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM 'FUTURENEVER'

Australian music legend Daniel Johns has announced the release of his highly anticipated sophomore solo album, FutureNever. Having started his own podcast, Who Is Daniel Johns, only months ago, fans will be able to immerse themselves in the musicians new project next April.


Written and recorded over the past couple of years, the body of work is set to offer an eclectic collection of songs, with the musician sharing the album will feature a number of collaborations. FutureNever marks a new era for Johns, who will be releasing the album through his own label via a new global deal with BMG. To coincide with the records release, the musician has launched a new website, which is set to evolve throughout the albums rollout.



"FutureNever is a place where your past, present and future collide- in the FutureNever the quantum of your past experiences become your superpower. The experience of the podcast has helped me make peace with my past and I’m ready to tackle this new world bravely." Johns' shares of he release. "I won’t be leading in with singles, the album is designed to be enjoyed as an album. Call me a hopeless romantic but that’s the benefit of releasing music on your own label. Nobody can tell you what to do."


Fans are able to pre-order FutureNever now, with a number of bundles and exclusives on sale. Available on limited edition colour vinyl pressings and cassette tapes, Johns is offering listeners the chance to be immortalised on a limited edition picture disc vinyl. Limited to 500 copies, fans can have their name etched onto the vinyl, which each copy personally signed by Johns.



Having rose to acclaim as the front man of internationally acclaimed rock band Silverchair, where he scored five #1 on the ARIA Albums, Johns was the first songwriter in history to win the prestigious APRA ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award on three separate occasions. The GRAMMY Award winner made his solo debut in 2015 with his acclaimed album, Talk, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Australian Albums chart.


FutureNever is out April 1, 2022.
