Courtney Barnett has unveiled the visual for her latest single, Before You Gotta Go. Taken from her forthcoming album Things Take Time, Take Time, the singer has also launched an engrossing interactive website that offers an intimate, deconstructed glimpse into the album.

Directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, we follow Barnett as she takes on the role of an ethnographer, collecting field recordings of from the Australian landscape. Co-produced by Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Cate le Bon, Kurt Vile), Before You Gotta Go weaves together layers of synth, guitars, drums and percussion, threaded together to create one warm and comforting soundscape. Barnett's honest and mesmerising vocals float above, as she hopes to leave behind a relationship on a more positive note.

Speaking of the visual, Dalimore shares: “Making this clip was an interestingly polarising experience for me. I love how brilliantly simple Courtney’s idea was, it brought real joy shooting part of it together, just me, her and my DOP with the other part being two long days directing over zoom across the Tasman Sea. I watch it now and feel that sense of peace, that potent calm you can only get immersed in the beauty of nature.”

Earlier this year, the Aussie music legend treated fans with the creation of a unique and wonderfully detailed online archive of her touring and performing history. Initially intended to serve as a platform for fans to enjoy live music whilst touring became impossible, the website pieces together fourteen years worth of touring history, never-before-heard desk-mixes, live television performances and a rich trove of specially commissioned show-posters.

Things Take Time, Take Time is out November 12! Watch the visual for Before You Gotta Go below.
