Courtney Barnett has offered up a new taste of her forthcoming album Things Take Time, Take Time, with the release of her new single, Write A List of Things to Look Forward To. The release arrives alongside a heart-warming visual, directed by Christina Xing, which follows the singer as she sends and receives a series of gifts and letters.
“I found a deeper communication with people in my life – deeper conversations”, Barnett notes of this new phase that served as inspiration for the track. “And a new level of gratitude for friendships that had been there for so long that I had maybe taken for granted”.
Earlier this year, the Aussie music legend treated fans with the creation of a unique and wonderfully detailed online archive of her touring and performing history. Initially intended to serve as a platform for fans to enjoy live music whilst touring became impossible, the website pieces together fourteen years worth of touring history, never-before-heard desk-mixes, live television performances and a rich trove of specially commissioned show-posters. The archive was followed up by an engrossing interactive website that offers an intimate, deconstructed glimpse into the album.
