Coldplay have made their grand return, beaming their new single Higher Power in to outer space, premiering the track on the International Space Station. Linking up with French ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet for the historic moment, the four-piece and Pesquet discussed similarities between life on tour and life on the ISS, planet earth and extraterrestrial life.
Speaking of the track, Coldplay shared on their social media platforms: "Higher Power is a song that arrived on a little keyboard and a bathroom sink at the start of 2020. It was produced by Max Martin who is a true wonder of the universe."
Alongside the release, the band have also shared an official performance visual for the track, directed by Paul Dugdale and made complete with dancing alien holograms. The group will perform Higher Power on American Idol this weekend, with the superstar group also set to perform at Glastonbury's Live At Worthy Farm global livestream, later this month.
