Melbourne based production duo Close Counters have treated fans with a bevy of news today! The duo have announced the release of their new EP FLUX, sharing a new song off the track as well as announcing their 2021 national tour!

Hitting the road this April, May and June Close Counters will kick off their FLUX EP Tour with a performance at Great Music Festival in Tasmania and Meadow Festival. The tour will continue on to Wollongong, Sydney, Hobart, Brisbane and Melbourne before wrapping the tour up with DJ sets in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Speaking of the EP, the duo share: “The ‘FLUX’ EP is a colourful array of four songs we made at the tail end of 2019 and the start of 2020. These tunes continue our deeper exploration of dance and house music, projecting positivity through rhythm and song writing. Having started playing live with a full band during the development of this project we have incorporated a lot more live playing in these recordings. With a background in jazz we thrive off the spontaneity of jamming and improvising when developing our music and are constantly trying to find the sweet spot between multiple musical worlds of groove.”

The EP's visual component was directed by band member Finn Rees under his Piewack moniker. Comprised of his signature hand drawn animation, the visualisers incorporate new creative techniques, drawing on super 8 film, creating a balance of organic and electronic elements across the EP's visuals and tracks.

FLUX is out March 26.
