Diamond Certified, 20x Platinum, 4x Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Puth has unveiled the visual for his latest single, That’s Hilarious. The track is set to appear on the musicians hotly-anticipated third studio album, CHARLIE, due out later this year.
Directed by Matthew Daniel Siskin, Puth runs through the emotional turmoil that followed the demise of a previous relationship, re-living the stages of heartbreak. Seated at a table, the visual presents itself as if the viewer has taken on the role of the musicians ex-lover, having returned to re-kindle their relationship, but met with resistance from Puth.
Co-written with longtime collaborator JKash, the emotionally charged release captures the hurt and betrayal felt when a relationship meets its demise, and the residual emotional impact of a loved ones actions. Puth's crystal-clear vocals cut through pinpoint production, bringing vulnerable and intimate lyricism that will make your heart ache.
“I'm really excited for the song to come out, but every time I hear it, I'm kind of brought back to a time that was really, really challenging in my life,” he says. “I never told people what happened to me and the pain that I went through going through the worst breakup of my life in 2019… I just wanted to throw it under the carpet and start over and surround myself with better people. But this is the hardest song that I ever had to put together, and I'm so excited for you to hear it."
