GRAMMY nominated and multi-platinum singer, songwriter and producer, Charlie Puth is back with his new single, Light Switch. The musician has been teasing fans with snippets of the song on TikTok, with the track set to appear on his hotly-anticipated third studio album, Charlie.
Produced by Puth and co-written with longtime collaborator JKash and Grammy-nominated songwriter Jake Torrey, the groove-laden release brings the musicians signature soaring falsetto vocals and pinpoint production, making Light Switch just the latest in a string of bangers from the musician. Sensual and seductive both lyrically and sonically, Puth took fans along for the ride whilst writing the track, sharing snippets of his creative process on TikTik and giving the world a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the hitmakers musical mind.
“On the songwriting level, it was really cool to share this song with the fans while I made it, so they felt like they were involved at the very beginning of the song, like they almost wrote it with me.” Puth shares of the track. Adding of his forthcoming album, “I’ve never had a chance to put out music that is truly me and every song on this album is my personality with some melody attached to it.”
The release arrives alongside an official visual, directed by Christian Breslauer. The humorous clip sees Puth undertake a transformation, hitting aerobics classes and trying out a new hairstyle in the attempt to win back the heart of his former lover.
