ARIA-nominated singer songwriter Chanel Loren is back, teaming up with American rapper Kota The Friend on her new single, Carelessly Doomed.
Serving as the singers first release in a year, the track ushers in a new era for the singer as she brings a unique blend of alt-pop and R&B sonics to create a relaxed and captivating soundscape that will take you back to London in the early 2000's. Loren's signature alluring vocals float above, as she and Kota The Friend trade verses that explores wanting to leave behind your overthinking ways and live in the moment.
“Carelessly Doomed is an intimate conversation to myself about owning my overthinking and perfectionist tendencies (which I do a lot!). It's me consciously trying to let things go and accept the process - even if it scares me. I’m in my ‘Que Sera’ era. The feature with Kota The Friend happened really organically. I opened for him on tour at the end of 2022 and we got along super well. Shortly after I started teasing Carelessly Doomed and he heard a snippet and immediately DM’d me asking for the instrumental. The rest is history!”
Having made her debut in 2022 with Playlist, Loren has gone from strength to strength which each release, claiming her place as one to watch with with a string of singles under her belt. The singer made her live debut at BIGSOUND 2022, and last year performed multiple showcases at South By South West Sydney (SXSW) and recieved an ARIA nomination for Best Soul/R&B release.
