Following on from their appearance at BIGSOUND this week, Adelaide-based sibling duo Caroline & Claude have dropped their new single Dreams.

Mixed by Oscar Dawson and mastered by Leon Zervos, the down-tempo cut places the duos enchanting vocals above psych-infused guitar melodies and relaxed percussion, within a melancholic soundscape.

Dreams started as a guitar track with a beachy vibe, influenced by the likes of Hether and Hers. First produced by Claude, we then wrote the melancholy melody and lyrics over the instrumental. We wanted to include lots of reverb and harmonies to add that dream-like dimension. Once the chorus hits, we wanted the listener to think ‘oh damn! this hits kinda deeper than their other stuff!’, showing a more transparent side of Caroline & Claude,” Caroline shares.

Claude adds of the visual, “We made the Dreams video with our friends - Annika, Leo and Sam! We filmed it on Super 8 which was exciting and fun to do and very different to our usual digital camcorder video. Dreams is contradictory to our other music videos, it’s more artistic and melancholy,”

Caroline & Claude will continue their run of live shows, with headline shows at the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay on September 15 and Nth Gong in Wollongong on October 3, also supporting Nyxen at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on September 4. The duo are also set to perform at festivals throughout December, including NYE on the Hill, Forth Pub 150 and Factory Festival.

Following on from a childhood engaging with music and creative outputs, Caroline & Claude began writing and working on music throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, when the pair began isolating together.
