CAMP 8 DROPS NEW SINGLE 'HONEY'

Melbourne-based artist Camp8 had dropped his new single, Honey, produced by Stephan Mowat (Tyne-James Organ, Ali Barter, BLESSED). Serving as the first taste of what to expect from the musician throughout 2021, the release comes alongside a live performance visual, recorded at Melbourne's Aviary Studios.

The musical project of Reuben Apirana, the track serves as a love letter to the person who reinvigorated his world, exploring the hesitations and new beginnings that love can bring. Set atop a spatial and uplifting soundscape, Apirana bold vocals bring his authentic and evocative lyricism to life.

On the single, the musician shares: 'Honey is my attempt at an upbeat track. I wanted it to replicate the headspace I was in when I wrote it. The song is about all the things that went through my head when my now fiancé asked me to marry her and it kind of documents the progression of my brain throughout that period of my life. For me, this song is an exciting first step into something a bit brighter for Camp8. It was the first song I wrote after the EP was finished and It felt like a really natural direction for the project to head. It’s my version of a joyous song and I hope listeners will feel that too.'

The musician is set to take to the stage at Small Time in Brunswick tonight to launch the single, followed a performance at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne's The Retreat Hotel later this month.
