Multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Calum Scott has unveiled the visual for his latest single, Rise. The track is the second taste of the singers sophomore album, due out next, year, which follows Scott's acclaimed 2018 debut Only Human.
Directed by the singers frequent collaborators, UK duo Franklin & Marchetta, the cinematic clip begins as we meet Scott by the ocean, before cutting to scenes of British actor, Georgia Hirst (Vikings). Portraying a visibly ill young woman, we're shown moments of Hirst's journey from diagnosis to treatment, with her inner strength rising to the top.
“The video beautifully demonstrates the true heartbreaking journey many face and the unwavering strength they show in the face of such a cruel illness,” says Scott, adding: “Have your Kleenex at hand, it’s an emotional one!”
Produced by Gabe Simon and Jon Maguire, the anthemic track shares an empowering message to push through the hard times and live life on your own terms. Built upon pounding drums and powerful harmonies, Rise continues Scott's run of emotive releases.
