Multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Calum Scott has treated us to a new taste of his hotly-anticipated sophomore, Bridges, with his cover of Greg Holden's emotional track, Boys in the Street. The release arrives alongside a black and white visual,
“Boys in the Street is one of the few songs that has made me cry on the first listen,” Scott shares. “I connected to the original version instantly, and had wanted to record my own interpretation for the last few years. When I’d finished my second album, I had the time to craft my own version, and immediately got in touch with Greg to ask for his blessing. I knew it would fit perfectly on Bridges, and in some ways was the song I was missing. I’m honoured to include this powerful and inspiring piece on my sophomore record — I know it’s a song that not only I can relate to, but will resonate with others around the world.”
Scott will return to Australia later this month, taking to the stage at the 62nd TV Week Logie Awards on the Gold Coast. Taking place at The Star on June 19, the event will mark the singers first performance on Aussie shores in almost four years.
“I am so excited to be coming back to Australia for the first time in nearly four years and perform at the TV Week Logie Awards! Australia has always had such a special place in my heart so I feel incredibly lucky to be coming back to do more in such an amazing country. Can’t wait to be a part of a special night celebrating the best of Australian TV!” Scott says of his appearance at the ceremony.
Bridges is out June 17! Listen to the song below.
