Emerging Darkingjung/Central Coast artist BOY SODA has unveiled his hotly-anticipated new single, LOVEU2BITS.

The musical project of Brae Luafalealo, the musician is blazing the trail for the burgeoning Sydney RnB and Hip-Hop scene, with his latest offering set to become the perfect groove for your lockdown boogie. Built upon thumping 808s, vivid lyricism flows through the track as Luafalealo celebrates love and the time spent with those who matter the most.

Speaking of the track, the musician shares: “Everyone knows the feeling of watching a person they love see someone else and it’s the worst. I feel like there are a lot of ugly emotions that follow and you’re just sad and angry at the same time (which is normal because it means they meant something to you, and if we don’t have people like this coming in and out of our lives then what’s the point?). I didn’t want to look at it this way, I just knew that I really loved someone and that was more important before any of the heartbreak and emotional conflictions. LU2B is a celebration of love and time spent with complete disregard for anything that existed before or after the relationship. Do I want her to hear this on the radio and call me? YES. but we don’t have to talk about that.”

Directed by Bailey Watts, the visual juxtaposes the themes of love present throughout the track, with BOY SODA taking on the role of a lonesome spectator, observing the couples that surround him and longing for his own epic love story.

“Bailey and I wanted to create a video that revolved around the irony of singing a love song and being the loneliest character in the video. As the plot unfolds, we see different relationships start to turn sour, but I’m still in the background thinking ‘damn even if I did I have something to argue about, I got no one to argue about it with’” says BOY SODA on the making of the video. “It toes the line between sweet and tragic and Bai and I always make an effort of fleshing out binaries like that - it’s why we made a point to colour-blocking every scene so that we get this organised collision between the two moods.”

Since making his way onto the scene in 2019, BOY SODA has gone from strength to strength. Having opened for Dominic Fike at the Converse x Camp Flog Gnaw event, the musician has dropped a string of bangers which caught the attention of his new label home, Warner Music Australia. Dan Rosen, President of Warner Music Australasia says of the signing “As we enter a new era for Warner Music Australia and continue to evolve our domestic roster, Brae is a perfect example of the kind of artist we want to be working with. He possesses a unique talent with truly international potential, and is authentic, passionate and driven. I am very proud to welcome BOY SODA to the Warner Music family and am incredibly excited to see him develop as an artist and build a long term career.”
