Birdz is hitting the road! The Melbourne based hip-hop artist has announced a national 2022 tour, set to take place off the back of the release of his forthcoming album, LEGACY, due out November 5.
Kicking off at The Lansdowne in Sydney on April 1, the run of shows will continue on to Brisbane, Adelaide and Shepparton, before wrapping up at The Gaso in Melbourne on April 22. The Shepparton leg of the tour will see the musician take to the stage at Victoria’s Land of Plenty Festival. Tickets are on sale now.
Raised in Katherine N.T. and based in Melbourne, as a proud Butchulla man Birdz is renowned for his unique brand of hard-hitting hip-hop embodying strong messages of hope and self-determination. His latest single, LEGACY Pt. 2, sees the musician team up with Missy Higgins and celebrates the familial linage between a parent and their child, bringing together generations with his heartfelt flows, beautifully matched by Higgins' emotive vocals.
Speaking of the collaboration, Birdz says, “Not long after The Set, I reached out to Missy with the idea for Legacy and a demo beat that Trials had made. She loved the idea and wrote her parts pretty much straight away, which really helped set the tone for the record. We all wrote the song together, which I think just makes it even better because it feels like a real collaboration." He continues, “It was such an honour to work with someone of Missy’s calibre, her songwriting is amazing and I’ve learnt so much from the whole experience. trials’ production, as always, elevated the song to new heights and really brought the overall vision to life.”
