Global superstar Beyoncé is back! The singer has unveiled her hotly anticipated seventh studio album, RENAISSANCE, treating fans with a disco-inspired body of work whilst also pivoting away from the visual album format of her previous releases.
Recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, the album is a celebration of freedom and self-worth, brought to life by Beyoncé's commanding vocals atop scintillating beats. Weaving together threads of disco, neo-soul and R&B, the joyous release explores new sonic terrain for the singer, bringing dynamic rhythms and melodies to each track.
“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” Beyoncé shares. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
The singer enlisted a wide range of collaborators on the album, working with The-Dream, Nile Rodgers, NOVA, NO ID, Raphael Saadiq, Mike Dean, Honey Dijon, Chris Penny, Luke Solomon, Skrillex, Beam, Big Freedia, Grace Jones and Tems, to bring her vision to life.
