BENEE RETURNS WITH VISUAL FOR 'HAPPEN TO ME'

Image: Harry Were

New Zealand’s platinum sensation BENEE has treated fans with an official visual for her track, Happen To Me!

Directed by Charlotte Evans, the gothic visual finds the singer atop a throne, at the centre of a royal feast reminiscent of The Last Supper. The track embodies the conceptual nature of the track, as the singer grapples with her own fear of death. Of the video, BENEE shares: “Stoked to be sharing this music video with everyone! I filmed it with a bunch of mates, and it was the coolest set! Hope you love it as much as I do. ”

2020 was a busy year for BENNE, with the singer launching her very own record label, Olive. The labels first signing, is 19 year-old Raglan artist, Muroki. The Kenyan-New Zealander caught the attention of the singer through his self-released debut, Better or Worse, which dropped last year. The singer is creating a formidable force with her new record label, building a tight knit team comprised of label manager Trieste Douglas, formerly A&R for Universal NZ, and Poppy Tohill, from BENEE’s management team at CRS.

The singers debut album features the singers hit singles Supalonely, Night Garden and Snail. The highly-anticipated hosts a number of collaborations, with the hit-maker enlisting Grimes, Gus Dapperton, Lily Allen, Flo Milli, Mallrat, Kenny Beats, Bakar and Muroki.
