Aussie legend Ben Gillies has just dropped his debut single, Breathe In, Breathe Out. The track marks the Silverchair drummers first release as a solo artist.
Combining contemporary sounds with classic 70’s rock moments, Gillies is carving out his own unique sound. The big and dreamy chorus expands and contracts, with soothing melodies on a subtly crafted anthem for our times.
Gillies is gearing up to release a full-length body of work, something he has been working on over the past five years. One of the founding members of Silverchair, the musician formed Tambalane in 2003 with Australian Idol winner Wes Carr, during Silverchair’s hiatus in 2002. In 2012, Gillies formed the band Bento, taking on the role of frontman.
Breathe In, Breathe Out is the first look at what is to come from future releases, providing insight into the new direction Gillies is taking. Drawing on his past experience and personal love for performing, the musician is set to bring his world-class musicianship to the forefront.
