Brisbane four-piece Beddy Rays an exclusive, limited capacity hometown show at Redland Community Centre, taking place on July 16. All proceeds from the event will go towards the COOEE Indigenous Family and Community Education Centre.
Supported by Concrete Surfers and Planet Waves, the event will also host a raffle and will take place only weeks before the arrival of the bands hotly-anticipated self-titled debut album.
"Reddy Bay is where everything started for us and DIY gigs are a part of our pedigree. With that in mind, we wanted to go full circle and bring everything back to our humble beginnings with a local backyard party style gig and we reckon we’ve achieved just that. We also want to give back to the community that has supported us over the years, so we’ve decided to donate all proceeds to COOEE Indigenous Family and Community Education Centre who aim to support the education and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and families in Redland City,” says the band of the show.
Next month, the band will kick off their extensive national tour in support of the record. With the first show taking place at Maroochydore's Solbar on August 13, the tour will continue on to Perth, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Canberra, Hobart, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne, before wrapping up in Torquay on September 23. Special guests TOWNS and Bakers Eddy are set to join the tour.
Beddy Rays is out July 29.
