Mexican-American bilingual singer-songwriter Alaina Castillo has treated fans with the first taste of her forthcoming debut album, sharing parallel universe pt. 1. On the confident body of work, Castillo continues her exploration of dark R&B sonics, paired with catchy pop-infused anthems.
Castillo says of the release: “The process of making my album has taught me a lot about who I am as an artist, but it’s also showed me who I am as a person, and allowed me to have the confidence to finally be that person in the real world. parallel universe is the soundtrack of me becoming who I was always too shy to be”.
Produced by RØMANS, parallel universe pt. 1 features the previously released singles stfu (i got u) and indica. The release comes after her debut award show performance of Besame Mucho at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards. The 21-year-old songstress amassed over 150 Million streams, with her legion of fans growing with every new release.
