Emerging pop singer Pepper Lewis had dropped her debut EP, She Told Me To Sing My Heart Out. To celebrate the release, the singer has shared with MILKY five things she learnt whilst creating the EP!
Speaking of the release, the singer shares: “I just wanna make excellent music and write excellent lyrics that connect with my peers and gives them a little hope,” says Pepper. That’s what I’m working so hard for because that’s what I’m here for.”
ONE
The more honest you are with yourself, the easier it is to write a great song. Life is too short not to tell your truth and be proud of it.
TWO
It’s surprising how much can get done on zoom. It’s definitely not as comforting and fun as it is in person. It’s doable, though!
THREE
There are lyrics around you literally all the time, you just have to observe and listen for them.
FOUR
You have to put your energy into making the best music that will mean something to someone. Fame isn’t tangible and no authentic, long lasting art comes from that motivation. Money is the root of all evil, kids!
FIVE
Do the best you can do, for the position you are in NOW. I did the best 20-21 year old me could do, with the resources that I had, for that period of my life.
She Told Me To Sing My Heart Out is out now!
