Weymouth punk four-piece Weatherstate have returned with their new single, Current Dose, produced by Alan Day (Four Year Strong). To celebrate the release, the band have shared their Dream Rider with MILKY!

“It was actually one of the first songs we wrote for the new record and the first we worked on with Alan Day,” the band shares. “It’s one of the grittiest songs we’ve written to date. We ended up tuning the guitars super low on one side and leaning into the riffs with Alan.

“The bridge section is just noisy nonsense, we ended up stealing an idea from Nirvana’s 'Drain You' and started spraying deodorant cans into microphones in the studio. 'Current Dose' to me has loads of Foo’s energy. We jokingly referred to this song as 'if QOTSA wrote 'Welcome To Paradise’."

Without further adieu, here is Weatherstate's Dream Rider...

DAIRY LEA DUNKERS: JUMBO TUBES

No messing around here. Not the regular ones. Strictly the Jumb’s. Regulars are truly bin. Perfect for a post-soundcheck snack. Really gives you that extra “oomph" for stage time. No, it’s not just for children dad.

NINTENDO64 + RUMBLE PACK AND THE EXPANSION PACK

Let’s face it. This may feel excessive but that’s exactly what a poser would say. An absolute essential. Don’t tell me you’ve never played Bass Hunter 64 WITHOUT the rumble pack Such a joke. Its near impossible. Also, don’t you dare tell me you couldn’t get the expansion pack How else am I supposed to play Turok 2: Seeds of Evil?

WARM BUDWEISER (TALL CANS)

Us guys in Weatherstate are an understanding and empathetic bunch. We understand as a promoter, you may not be able to keep things below room temperature. It’s not always a convenient and we get that. It is what it is.

POKÉMON CARDS

Yes, we’ve been trying to kick the habit. It’s not working. In an ideal world, the burden and expense of gambling on these things should now come down to the promoter. Naturally.

NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL MUSIC: VOLUMES 39-53

Just to set the mood for the show, right? Don’t think we can fault this selection of the CD’s. I Don’t think it’s up for debate.
