Lorde's new single Solar Power is out now!
After four long, excruciating years of radio silence, New Zealand's queen of pop is back. Today, Lorde has made her return with the release of the title track of her highly anticipated third album, Solar Power. The track arrives alongside an official visual, filmed on location in New Zealand.
Written and produced by the singer and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, the infectious track captures all of those summer feelings, feeling like a warm glow shrouded upon us whilst we southern hemisphere folk are shivering in our winter boots. Conceptually, the song flirts with all those summer feelings and the revitalising energy sunshine can bring.
The songs bright and vivid clip is a visual representation of the tracks themes, with the singer donning a bright yellow outfit whilst frolicking along one of New Zealand's beautiful and scenic beaches, occasionally interacting with those around her. The visual sees Lorde team up once again with Joel Kefali, who directed the music video for her breakout hit, Royals.
Whilst no official release date has been confirmed for the record, the singer has hinted at its arrival over the coming months. Speaking of the album, the singer shared in a newsletter to fans: "The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through."
