Watch our interview with Vera Blue below!

Australian songstress Vera Blue has unveiled her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Mercurial. We caught up with the singer to chat about the release, the evolution of her artistry, performing live and so much more!

The musical project of Celia Pavey, the 10-track release offers a shift in focus from the singer as she documents and explores themes of heartbreak and mental health, with a. particular focus on evolving as a human and an artist despite personal experiences. Laced with introspective and storytelling lyricism, the singer offers up vulnerable moments and intimate moments juxtaposed by brighter moments that bring power.

Mercurial offers a sonic shift from Pavey, capturing the textural energy of her live shows. Built upon organic instrumentation, delicate piano chords, heavier bass lines, driving percussion and electro-pop production have all been effortlessly woven together to create engaging soundscapes that unfurl beneath the singers mesmerising vocal performance.

To celebrate the release, Vera Blue will embark on a national tour, kicking off tonight on the Gold Coast. The run of shows will continue on to Brisbane, Newcastle, Geelong, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, with the singer also set to support Grammy award winning producer Flume in Adelaide and Hobart. Pavey will then ring in the New Year at Beyond The Valley Festival in Barunah Plains.
