Indie-folk duo, The Dreggs recently shared their long-awaited debut album, Caught In A Reverie. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY what they are most looking forward to about hitting the road for their national tour.
“We’re so excited to get our album into the world. We wanted our debut album to be an eclectic collection of music, an album where you don’t have to skip any songs,” shares Zane Harris. “We recorded this album with multiple producers in various studios which actually helped us with the theme of keeping each song sounding that little bit different from the last. The name ‘Caught In A Reverie’ means you’re stuck in a daydream which was what we felt in the past couple of years. When we first started writing the album we wanted it to have a narrative, but we weren’t sure what that was going to be. As the songs started coming, we soon realised that it was going to be an album about personal growth. Not every song is about that though, there’s breakup songs, sad songs, songs you can scream in your car at the top of your lungs and of course songs you can sing and dance to. We have learnt so much from this album. We can’t wait to take what we’ve learnt into our future albums.”
Having kicked off the tour over the weekend in Adelaide and Perth, the run of shows will continue on to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The duo will then head to New Zealand for performances in Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland. Tickets are on sale now!
ONE
The singalongs, with releasing new music the most rewarding thing is to hear people screaming the lyrics back to you at the top of their lungs.
TWO
Sharing the stage with Grace & This New Light, both musicians are incredibly talented, and we can’t wait to watch both of their sets every night!
THREE
The venues, this run of shows is absolutely a dream come true. We have played some of them before, but we’ve also been to shows at these venues. They’re incredible.
FOUR
Touring during winter, normally we are touring through summer so to not be so sweaty loading in and out and whilst playing is definitely something to look forward to.
FIVE
Playing with a full band. We went from duo to trio to a four piece and now we are bringing a five piece band along this will be our biggest sound to date. We’re so excited to get this tour started!
