Our favourite DIY indie-rocker Time Temple is back with another absolutely stellar track, Yuck My Yum. Taking on production duties for the release, the singer is set to drop a visual for the track in the coming weeks,
Another mesmerising cut, Yuck My Yum places darker lyricism with a bright soundscape, conceptually navigating the retrospective thoughts of a past relationship. The dynamic track brings moments that pull on your heartstrings, whilst being soothed by the hazy sonics that surround your earbuds.
Speaking of the track, the musician shares: “We've all been there; your high school lover, the one you saw yourself with forever, and they tell you they're bored and looking for someone new. The analogy of Yuck My Yum actually came from a conversation with a past partner where she joked 'don't stink my kink’ after our talk about desires, and well, I couldn't write a song with that title, haha. Sonically I've always been fascinated by songs that sound happy and head boppy but lyrically are rather dark and intense - so this is my take on it.”
Temple has taken to the stage at mammoth festivals such as Splendour in The Grass, Field Day, Listen Out, Yours & Owls and Falls Festival. The musician has toured the country over, selling our venues across NSW, and supported the likes of Baker Boy, Kilter, Cosmo’s Midnight and Bootleg Rascal.
Yuck My Yum is out now! Listen to the track below.
