Aussie three-piece alt-rock band Surf Trash have dropped their brand new single, Wrong Or Right.
The song is a continuation of the bands exploration of indie-rock sounds, creating a dream like soundscape which perfectly exhibits the 60’s surf inspired riff that the track is built upon. Conceptually, the track navigates the line between infatuation and an unknown fate.
“You put your life on hold to go on a date and spend time with them, but they play you a bit and hesitate”, vocalist and drummer Andrew Scott said of the tracks inspiration. “You don’t know what they want out of the relationship, so eventually you have to just accept your fate”.
The band recorded the track at The Grove Studios with producer Jack Nigro (Middle Kids, DMA’s, Skegss). Working within the natural bush landscape the central coast studio is situated in, the band found the inspiration to begin exploring new mature sounds, moving away from the sunny coastal sounds prevalent on their EP Busy Doing Nothing.
Made up of brothers Andrew (drums/lead vocals) and Nicholas Scott (bass) and Lachlan Jackson (guitar), Surf Trash have spent the better part of the last 18 months performing across the country. With their debut headline tour seeing the trio perform to sold-out crowds. The band also found themselves on the festival circuit, performing at Festival Of The Sun, NYE On The Hill and St Kilda Festival.
Whilst their initial 2020 plans have been placed on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trio have been treating fans with live stream performances whilst also working hard on new music.
Wrong Or Right is out now! Listen to the track below.
