SOUTH SUMMIT'S TOP 5 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS (SO FAR...)

Tired of Waiting is out now!

Perth indie-rockers South Summit recently dropped their new single, Tired of Waiting. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY their top five career highlights... so far!

“The meaning of the song itself is about the realization that this person you thought you needed to depend on to be loved, was actually dragging you down and keeping you lost in a state of confusion through their manipulation and unreliability. The progression of the song then continues to a point where enough is enough, it's time to take a stand and distance myself from this situation that is holding me back from independence, because I'm tired of waiting. This independence then gives you the ability to achieve a happiness that comes from self-love and the freedom it brings.” band member Fynn Samorali shares of the track.

South Summit will be hitting the road on a national tour, set to kick off later this month. The run of shows will begin in Bunbury on May 20, before continuing on to Busselton, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Fremantle, Margaret River and Exmouth, before wrapping up in Perth on June 25.

RUNAWAY SINGLE LAUNCH @ BADLANDS

This was our best gig so far. The crowd was really into it, it was packed to the brim and the atmosphere was amazing.

THE UPCOMING TOUR TO THE EASTERN STATES

The tour hasn’t happened yet but this is still one of the highlights of our career so far. Just having the plans in place and all the details sorted out means we are very excited about this. It has always been one of our dreams to fly somewhere and play a gig.

RECORDING AT BLACKBIRD STUDIOS WITH DAVE PARKIN

Dave creates a really creative environment when we are in there, the process of writing comes more natural and always loads of great ideas for us. Working with someone as talented as Dave adds another dimension to our music.

SIGNING WITH FOUR TONE ARTISTS

Signing with Four Tone was been a huge step for South Summit, opening doors we didn't think possible at this stage of our careers. Having this partnership we've noticed that things are moving a lot faster now and although we haven't had a break from it all and we've been flat out with all the amazing opportunities, we are loving it and we don't plan on stopping the momentum that we've all worked so hard for.

GETTING ON THE OOTW LINEUP (OUR FIRST FESTIVAL)

I remember last year when we were talking about goals we wanted to achieve with the band, and one of the first things that came up was to get on a festival line up. Back then it seemed so distant and almost untraceable in the near future. So when we got the news that we were going to play in our first festival at Out of The Woods we were beyond excited. it was extremely hard not to tell all our friends and family who was on the lineup with us, we were just in disbelief that we were going to join the stage with these huge artists that we idolised for ages.
