Gold Coast duo Pharaohs are gearing up to make their debut with the release of their single, Fable. If you can’t wait to give the track a spin, listen to the song right here on MILKY before its release!
The musical project of Kendall James and Brett Sellwood, the duo fuse together sonic threads of indie-pop and dark electronica into one spellbinding soundscape, made complete with mesmerising vocals. Conceptually, the song navigates putting yourself first and following the path that feels right to you.
Speaking of the track, James shares: “One day late into the evening I’d been working on different piano progressions over a four to the floor beat and it wasn’t until I wrote the horn section that I realised the song was unfolding. Fable for me is about the common uncertainty we have when met by a fork in the road, making a choice and backing yourself that you’ve chosen the right path, wherever that path may take you.”
Having met whilst both DJing on the club circuit, the duo soon came together to bring their unique stylings to the table in a whole new musical project. Fable marks the very first track James and Sellwood worked on together, so it's only fitting it serves as Pharaohs' introduction to the world.
