Falling is out now!

Newcastle based songwriter and producer Mason Dane has dropped his new single, Falling. To celebrate the release, the musician has curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of songs he's "falling for."
Produced by Jakey Krumm, Dane shares of the tropical-pop track: "Man I'm gassed to have this one out. “Falling” came about when I was shooting my video for “Project X” with Jakey Krumm in Philly. I was there for 48hrs & we pumped this out as well as a music video & it was great to be able to work with Jakey in person. We wrote this with his cousin/writing partner Jared Krumm about that feeling you get when things end. You hyperbolise things so much in your head that you honestly feel like you’re hanging on the edge of a cliff ready to fall at any moment. Originally the song was an EDM track, but we just loved the afro-pop vibe that we switched it over the next day.”
MK.GEE - DREAM POLICE
Mk.gee might be the coolest man on the planet. This new project of his is a serious AOTY contender for me. He channels Phil Collins and Paul Simon into this crazy blend of super dark guitar 80’s feeling pop. Dream police is the standout from this project and I can't get enough
RYAN BEATTY - LITTLE FAITH
I put this album on blindly on a flight to LA and was blown away at the level of his songwriting and how beautifully sparse these songs feel. Something about this guy is just so different. Little Faith was my favourite off this project for sure.
TEDDY SWIMS - LAST COMMUNION
I honestly don't know how I slept on this guy for so long. This song almost feels like a Frank Ocean song at times, the organs, the crazy room reverb and the timpani drums make this one of the most encapsulating and heartbreaking breakup songs of recent time.
ALEKSIAH - ANT SONG
I was blessed enough to hear this one a little early and the way aleksiah writes songs is so sick I’m always asking her about writing and tips on open d guitar tuning lol. She’s one of my favourite artists out of the country right now and you gotta check this one if you haven't.
BEYONCÉ - 16 CARRIAGES
Oh. My. Goodness. Who expected this from Beyoncé?? I certainly didn’t. This almost reminds me of Last Communion a bit. Country Bey is peak. Can't get over the mix and production on this. Those pulls whenever she says the title into these walls of sound are nothing short of epic. Can't believe I said epic but there's really no other words.
TENDAI - WHY CAN’T I .
tendai is the UK’s best kept secret. An insanely talented producer/artist who has been behind the scenes helping on Stormzy's last album and making his own alt-R&B-pop. He honestly at times shows little shades of MJ. I just find him so creative and this one was in my wrapped last year so I’ve been pumping it.
THE JAPANESE HOUSE - TOUCHING YOURSELF
This album was so great. I naturally found them through my love for The 1975 and i was like “Oh perfect i get pretty much a bunch more music just like my favourite band”. Its super similar while also being her own thing & this song goes without saying how clean it is.
NEPTUNE - IN THESE BONES
Sydney's Neptune has a really beautiful way of making you reflect and touching your heart in the softest little crevice you didn’t know existed. Fun fact: I’m actually on an alternate unreleased version of this song and it's probably my favourite thing I’ve ever written. But until the world hears that version, this one's pretty damn perfect.
SLEAZYWORLD GO - MAJOR LEAGUES
Look, my origins are rap and I’d be doing a disservice to not play some really really obnoxious rap music directly after a somber song about unrequited love but SleazyWorld Go is unfathomably hard. The thing that makes a rap song for me is the quotable’s and this ones packed, my favourite probably being “I know without that lace front on, this bitch probably bald headed” hahahahaha. So abrasive, so great.
DAVIDO - FEEL
Finishing off with my favourite genre atm (although the eight pop picks may not have indicated so) South African genre of Amapiano. I’m always playing this one from Davido, such feel good vibes. This genre is so fire and beautiful and I’ve been incorporating it into my own music lately. SAY DEM GO FEEL IT!
