Sydney-based singer-songwriter Chloe Parché has dropped her new single, I Don't Wanna Know. To celebrate the release, the singer has curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of songs that shaped and influenced her artistry.

"I Don't Wanna Know is a song I wrote during my very first session writing with Harry O'Brien (the lead singer of Pacific Avenue), which also happened to be the first time I had used a proper studio that wasn't just in someone's house. I think because I was so excited to just write in a new environment, the song flowed out super effortlessly and subconsciously, and I didn't have to think about it too much. Because of that, I think the meaning of the song is super self-explanatory. I hope everyone is able to relate to it in their own way and enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.”

1979 - SMASHING PUMPKINS

I grew up listening to a lot of my Dad’s favourite bands and while you may not be able to hear a direct connection between my music and these songs, they definitely had a major influence on me.

ARLANDRIA - FOO FIGHTERS

Same thing for the Fooies. I was lucky enough to see them a few times while growing up and they are my favourite band. Again, their stuff is definitely very different to mine but these songs for sure shaped the way I write even if it's just in a subtle way.

DAKOTA - STEREOPHONICS

Love this song. I really love ‘rockier’ songs that have pop elements to them, I think that this is definitely something I like doing but maybe the other way around.

THE CHAIN - FLEETWOOD MAC

Favourite Fleetwood Mac song. I listened to a lot of Fleetwood Mac growing up, in love with Stevie Nicks.

DANI CALIFORNIA – RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

I love that they have such a distinct sound and Anthony Kiedis is an awesome lyricist. I used to watch videos of them playing live in class when I was younger and was so captivated, definitely inspired young me.

AFFECTION - JESS DAY

Such a fun song and I love how the melody is kinda percussive, it scratches my brain. This could have been a reference song we used in the session where we wrote ‘I Don't Wanna Know’ and if it wasn’t I would have been listening to this around that time.

SMALL TALK - BRISTON MARONEY

Briston Maroney is so awesome, I can never get this song out of my head. I aspire to write songs as catchy as this.

EDGE OF TOWN - MIDDLE KIDS

I think I would have also been listening to this around the same time we wrote ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’. I love everything about it.
