PHOTO DIARY: NEWPORT TAKES US BEHIND-THE-SCENES OF 'GROWING PAINS'

Growing Pains is out now!

Image: Victoria Campelo.

Perth indie artist Newport has dropped his debut EP, Growing Pains. To celebrate the release, the musician is taking us behind-the-scenes of creating the EP and its visuals.

“The EP was made whilst an entire relationship happened in my life. From start to end; there’s a hint of every part of it in this EP. Anyone who has experienced any stage of love will hopefully be able to resonate with a song or two or hopefully more.” the musician shares.

Newport will host an EP launch show, taking over The Bird in Perth on Thursday, December 14. Tickets are on sale now!

MAKING EP GROWING PAINS

I finally figured out the chorus for notoveru. I think I sent this to a whole bunch of people because I was so excited.

Day two with Pip Norman, first time in Sydney, also probably my favourite studio I’ve been in.

This is hours before my first ever show at BIGSOUND, I was so nervous in this.

One of the very few photos I have with my manager Summer, this was at BIGSOUND also.

FILMING GET BACK TO THIS

Stephanie Senior, the Director of Get Back To This, took this photo to show us how good the shot was haha.

I was supposed to just pretend to spray Estelle with the hose but actually ended up getting it all over her dress, whoops.

Steph said something funny.

FILMING HANDMEDOWNS

“Mamas. Don’t let your babies grow up to drive Chevys!”

This is all of my jumpers. On set of the handmedowns music video.

I had to do like 5 loads of washing after this but it was worth it.

FILMING MAYBE I

Illusions. Moments before, a pigeon flew down from the rafters and landed right in front of me, then I pulled it out of my hat in the video.

This photo looks like I’m about to perform the most mind blowing magic ever.

Was figuring out how to place the doll so that it looked like I was fighting a 10 foot giant.

Growing Pains is out now!
