Australian rock outfit Ocean Alley are back with a brand new tune, Touch Back Down. The release arrives alongside the announcement of two additional Queensland shows on their national 2022 tour.

Written earlier this year in the wake of Bluesfest's cancellation, the upbeat release is a brighter moment from the six-piece as they focus on the positives in life and finding the light in any negative experiences. Built upon mesmerising guitars, driving percussion and glistening keys, the song highlights frontman Baden Donegal's captivating vocals, bringing to life catchy melodies that build into a massive sing-a-long chorus.

Speaking of the track, frontman Baden Donegal shares: “It’s exciting to have new music out. The more records we write, the more we can explore our sound and style, which is why they are ever-changing. Touch Back Down gives a much happier vibe than any single from Lonely Diamond and we’re definitely carrying that upbeat energy across our writing at the moment. It provides a pretty good insight into the feel we’re going for in terms of our next record.”

Guitarist Mitch Galbraith adds, “It feels more playful than Lonely Diamond and we wanted it to be that way. After the craziness of the past two years, we wanted to be less serious and write songs that will get people moving rather than thinking. We felt that we could write music this time around that is less introspective and with a little more storytelling, so this is the first taste of that new direction.”

Kicking off with a sold-out show at WA's Fremantle Arts Centre, the run of shows will continue on to Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, Sydney for three sold-out shows, before a sold-out performance Melbourne and two shows in Adelaide. The six-piece will be joined by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Dulcie.
