Perth-based artist Nocturnal has dropped his new single, Funhouse. The track serves as the first taste of new music from the musician since the release of his self-titled debut album.
Inspired by a day spent at the local community fair, the track is built upon choppy synth chords and driving LinnDrum percussive patterns that hark back to the neon glow of the 80's. The musical project of Louis Rendle-O’Shea, the musicians robust vocals bounce atop the songs playful soundscape. Funhouse could find its place on your favourite 80's soundtrack with its catchy melodies and ripping guitar solo.
“I’ve always had a soft spot for 80's music so it was just a matter of time before I wrote a song like Funhouse,” the musician shares of the self-produced track.
Arriving in 2022, Nocturnal features ten original songs from the musician - including the singles Setting Sun, Lifeline and Falling. Following it's release, Rendle-O’Shea shared live versions of tracks from the album, recorded live at Sumo Sound Studio.
