Australian producer Motez has teamed up with British MC and producer Scrufizzer on his new single, Get It Done. To celebrate the release, Motez has shared with MILKY five tips to create an epic collaboration!

“I wanted to draw from industrial and dissonant sounds and tones found in EBM, dark disco and techno, but adding Scrufizzer’s unique vocals and delivery to be a point of difference and to drive the message home." Motez shares of the single.

OPEN MIND

Doesn't matter how talented you are, even though "talent" is very subjective, it's very important to have an open mind which really helps with creativity. Some of my most favourite moments in my music came from keeping an open mind, you never know what can happen.

BE DARING

One of the most important aspects of any artist for me is pushing the envelope whenever you get the chance, and that's what I always expect from people that I work with. Some of my biggest turn offs in music is doing the same thing over and over again, I think it's important for me to try and do something different every chance I get and I found that I've always been drawn to collaborating with artists who do the same.

BE PERSONABLE

When I get a chance, I always chat with artists before I collaborate with them, it's very important to get an understanding of the person behind the artist, I found that I've always made some fantastic music with artists that I got along with, we don't need to be best friends (even though I've made some lifelong friends in the process) but I think I always felt more creative when I have established a more personable relationship with my collaborator.

HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOUR

We're doing music, it's fun and exciting, it's always good to have a laugh about it even if what we make is serious.

BE HONEST

I consider myself an honest person when it comes to working with people, if I don't like something I'll say that directly and I expect the same with people I work with, honesty is key in any relationship but especially in a creative collaboration.
