Australian folk-rock artist Matt Boylan-Smith has shared his new single, Gloria.
Vivid storytelling lyricism recounts a chance encounter between the musician and a mysterious woman, with Boylan-Smith's raw vocals capturing the songs urgent thematic nature. Rhythmic percussion unfurls below, with hypnotic guitar melodies and captivating piano melodies tying the songs atmospheric soundscape together.
“I wrote most of Gloria in Austria when I was having a little break on a tour. I had this peculiar night, must have went back to my hotel and written a verse and a chorus. I found it in my voice memos when I went in to record and went big with it in the studio with Dan Frizza” the musician shares.
Having toured across Australia, Europe and South America, Boylan-Smith took out this years Bluefest Busking Competition, earning him a spot on the celebrated Australian festivals line up. The music video for Johnny recieved acclaim at the Madrid International Film Festival, where it was awarded Best Short Film. The musician currently has his sights set on an East Coast tour for early 2023.
