Perth hip-hip artist MALiJO$E has unveiled his new single, Portals. Produced by OJC43, the track comes with an accompanying visual, directed by Dylan Guy. The track comments on the uncertainty of the future, and trying to escape day to day life.
Speaking of the release, the musician shares: "A lot of things have changed since last year. To say we’re the same people we were 2 years ago couldn’t be more far from the truth. I’m ready to start giving you music that is a complete reflection of myself. I’m ready to start telling my story. ‘Portals’ is me at this very moment. I wrote the song based on the feeling of uncertainty about the future. Not knowing what was gonna happen in my career, my life and the world I live in has been constant due to the climate of the world. Portals is the feeling of trying to escape the reality you live in and questioning 'what’s living in normal?''
In his brief time on the scene, MALiJO$E has already demonstrated a penchant for moving fast. His music conveys a personal story whilst merging elements of contemporary Australian youth culture. Old school hip-hop influences handed down to him by his father have encouraged MALiJO$E to establish himself as an artist years beyond his time, releasing hip-hop tracks you'd expect from a veteran.
Portals is out now! Watch the music video below.
